On Saturday 24th October 2026, PCs Yerli and Hassan, alongside PCSOs Titcombe, Sethi and Alfred from Ilford Town Ward, attended Vine Church to host a community engagement meeting with local residents. Councillor Saima Ahmed was also in attendance, demonstrating a joint commitment between local policing and community representatives to address issues affecting the ward.
The event provided an opportunity for residents to meet their local neighbourhood policing team, discuss concerns impacting their community, and raise issues that they felt required police attention. Topics discussed included local crime concerns, anti-social behaviour, community safety, and areas where residents felt additional police visibility and engagement would be beneficial.
Officers took the time to listen to each concern raised, offering crime prevention advice, reassurance and guidance where appropriate. The meeting encouraged open dialogue between the police and the community, helping to strengthen relationships, build trust and ensure residents feel heard and supported.
Detailed notes were taken throughout the meeting, and these are currently being reviewed by the ward team. The information gathered will help inform and shape the ward's future priorities, ensuring that policing resources are focused on the issues that matter most to local residents.
